Authorities in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council have expressed concern over the increased dumping of garbage in the town council’s drainage system.

Mr. Rogers Mutahunga, the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council chairperson says so many hips of garbage in the drainage channels have potential to cause flooding in the area when, eventually, rains fall.

Mr Mutahunga wondered why residents are not utilizing the trucks that have been deployed by the town council to collect garbage from the homesteads and warns that any persons found dumping garbage in the drainage channels would be arrested.

Meanwhile, the town council boss also made a passionate appeal to power distributor Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited-UEDCL to address the prevalent electricity outages which he said are affecting businesses in the Town Council.
