The Police in Kasese have finally acknowledged having in custody a man suspected to have killed two people in Kamughobe village of Kisinga sub-county.
The Rwenzori East Regional Spokesperson, SP Nelson has confirmed that Jackson Muhindo Kasulenge is behind bars at Kasese Central Police Station in Kasese town.
The Police Mouth explained that Muhindo is suspected to be having knowledge about the circumstances surrounding the death of Mary Biira, his wife and Joiles Kabutusu Kasulenge, his biological brother.
Biira aged 40 went missing in early April until last Thursday when Muhindo allegedly accepted that he killed his wife on allegations of adultery.
But, reports concerning Kabutusi’s death emerged yesterday after the same suspect also agreed to having murdered him.
It is also alleged that Muhindo secretly buried the two people in different locations but on his personal pieces of land in Kamughobe village.
Agnes Kasulenge, the biological sister to Kabutusi told the press that visited the area today that she last met Kabutusi as he was going to meet Muhindo over money issues in July this year.
Kasulenge explained that since then, Kabutusi had never been seen until yesterday when the sad new spread in the area indicating that he might have been killed and buried secretly.
Mr. Denis Muhunga, the Clan leader confirmed the above assertions and regretted the incidents.
He stated that the family had not been aware of the missing of Biira but they knew that Kabutusi was arrested and detained at Katwe Divisional Police headquarters in the Rwenzori Policing region.
Muhunga added that the family was shocked when they learnt that their own family member plotted the murder of Biira and Kabutusi.
Asked about the plans of exhuming the bodies so that they are accorded a decent burial, Muhunga clarified that the family only waits for what the police will advice them to do.
Muhunga’s assertions were concretized by the Sub-county Chairperson, Mr. Julius Mukeri who immediately challenged the families to be mindful of the whereabouts of their relatives.
