Kyamanduma officially declares interest to vie for Bukonzo County West parliamentary seat

Mr. Patrick Muhindo Kyamanduma, a renowned Lhukonzo News Anchor at Kasese Guide Radio has returned the filled expression of interest forms for the Bukonzo County West Parliamentary seat.

Mr. Kyamanduma, who is a member of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) was among the many party members vying for different elective positions who returned the forms today at the Kasese Branch Offices in Kasese town.

Being the second last day of returning the forms, Kasese District FDC Branch Offices today became so busy as officials welcomed expression of interest forms from aspirants intending to participate in the party primaries at all levels.

Accompanied by his fellow media personalities, Kyamanduma arrived at the party offices located on Alexander Street in Kasese town at 10:30am where he received a heroic welcome by his fans and party members before handing over his forms to the Party Chairperson, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku who allowed him to go to the constituency to consult the party members ahead of the vetting exercise slated for next year.

In his maiden speech shortly after handing over the forms, Kyamanduma, who hailed the incumbent Member of Parliament for Bukonzo County West for all what he has done, said him to step down after two political terms so that he takes the mantle from him for the glory of FDC party.

He told the press and his fans that his consultations would base on three pillars including boosting agricultural programs, education and revamping business activities at Mpondwe market with an assurance that during his tenure as a legislator, the fish market would be brought back to the Ugandan side as it was before for the positive socio-economic transformation of the people of Bukonzo County West. 

The incumbent Bukonzo County West legislator, Hon. Godfrey Atkins Katusabe, who also returned the forms today, said he was determined to winning both the party primary elections and the 2026 General Elections for the third time.

Others who returned the forms included Hon. Rita Biira, the District Woman Councilor representing Kisinga Town Council and Kisinga Sub-county who is vying for the position of District Woman Member of Parliament, Mr. John Muhindo Kigere, who is vying for the Bukonzo County East Parliamentary seat and Mr. Selevest Masereka commonly known as Caritas who is also vying for the Bukonzo County East Parliamentary seat.

Mr. Caritas, who reached the FDC offices at 3:20pm aboard a bicycle and accompanied by a convoy of motorcycles and a car, said he wanted to demonstrate that he was persons who would work with all the people right all from grass root level.

He also noted that he decided to seek leave from the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu as Minister of Lands, Environment and Agriculture to advocate for the youth and women as well as promoting education, asking the people of Bukonzo County East to trust him as a tested leader.

 Upon receiving the filled forms, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the District FDC Chairperson, warned all the people against turning consultative meetings as campaign rallies.
