Residents of Kikonzo and Kidodo Cells in the Railway Ward of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality who have constructed houses and latrines in the Queen Elizabeth National Park have been given a three –day ultimatum to have demolished them.

The ultimatum was given today evening by the Kasese Assistant RDC in-charge of Kasese Municipality, Ms Justine Muhindo Mutabazi during a community meeting that was convened to determine the fate of the residents who had stubbornly refused to demolish their structures to pave way for the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to construct an electric wire along the boundaries of the park.

However, during the meeting, some of affected residents including Ms Nyesiano Busaghiryo agreed to demolish their structures, warning their fellows who would become adamant to adhere to directive before the law takes its course.

Hon. John Kisembo Siriwayo, the Municipal Councilor representing the area, who encouraged the affected residents to respond to the directive positively, said failure to demolish their structures would come along with a negative impact.

Ms. Justine Muhindo Mutabazi who represented the Deputy RDC in-charge of Busongora County, Mr. Zepher Mubingwa observed the need for the couples and Ugandans in general to embrace discipline as a way of upbringing morally upright children.
