Old students’ associations have been tipped on the need to look out for their colleagues especially those who have been bogged down by the vagaries of the world.
Hon Barbara Faridah Kabanyoro Ndahura, the deputy minister for information and mobilisation in the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu-OBR says quite often the social stratification after school life creates a disconnect between students who once lived happily as a family with aspirations to conquer the world together.
Speaking to the press yesterday at Musungu Tourist Hotel in Kasese town, Kabanyoro, who is also the chairperson organizing committee of the home-coming of Kasese Primary School old students of 1990-1996 cohort slated for tomorrow, says there must be a deliberate effort to bridge this social disconnect in order to foster the spirit of cohesion and brotherhood.
She explained that it is against this background that they have issued a call for all former pupils in this cohort to turn up at Kasese Primary School where they have some items to be donated to the school and later for the luncheon at Villa Margherita in Muyenga of Kasese town.
Mr Edson Musungu, also an old student of the same Kasese Primary School cohort, says there is fulfillment in winning together and thus adds that they are committed to supporting their former colleagues especially those whose dreams were shattered by the vagaries of the world.
According to Musungu, as much as success can be defined differently, it is always worthwhile to support colleagues in whatever small ways to help them develop hope and aspire to make a footprint in this world.
