The leadership of Misika II Cell in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality has warned the residents against idleness, calling on them to embrace hard work in order to realize improved livelihoods.
The area Chairperson, Mr. Willington Bwambale Mukidi II says they will no longer entertain the people who not work.
According to him, they have laid down a number of measures to encourage the people to work instead of opening bars in the morning hours.
He observes the need for the people to adhere to his call for socioeconomic transformation and improvement of their standards of living.
Mukidi also calls for mango tree planting, describing it as a crop of value which is on market.
He indicates that the Netherlands business people have shown interest in partnering with the people in the area to have all the mango harvests exported.
He, however, asks the government to back up the efforts of the village leadership in ensuring that the people access equitable services. Among others, he demands for safe and clean water to be extended to the area.
Similarly, the Base Camp Lower Cell Chairperson, Jafari Kigutia discourages redundancy among the people in the area.
He threatens that redundant youth risk being imprisoned because they pose security threats to other people’s livelihood projects including poultry animal keeping among others.
