Kasese Grade I Magistrate’s Court remands two suspects over theft

The Kasese grade 1 Magistrate’s Court has further remanded two suspects to Mubuku government prison up to August 28, on charges of theft and burglary.

Court convened today by the Kasese Grade one Magistrate, His worship Faishal Mbale Ngamije heard that on May 31, 2026, while at Saluti A cell in Kanyangeya ward of Nyamwamba division in Kasese Municipality, Ronald Musinguzi and his co-accused Edirne Musoki stole a hen valued at 15000 shillings.

When they reappeared before court for hearing of their matter, the duo denied the charges which prompted prosecution led by the Kasese resident state Attorney counsel Godfrey Oundo to pray for adjournment noting that no witness had turned up to testify.

Court concurred with him and issued criminal summons against the witnesses hence fixing the 28th of August for further hearing.

The same court has further remanded Ronald Bwambale to the same prison until August 31 on charges of aggravated Robbery.

It is alleged that on July 04, 2026, while at Majengo trading Centre in Kyondo cell of scheme ward, Nyamwamba Division, the accused person while armed with a panga and bricks robbed Atuhaire Medrine of her mobile phone valued at 45,000 and Ugx 30,000 cash.

It is further purported that the accused person used bricks to hit the victim and intimidated her with a panga which compelled her to surrender her belongings.

However, Bwambale denies the charge, which prompted court to adjourn the hearing of the matter to the said date and was accordingly further remanded. ENDS.
