Journalist Denis Mumbere laid to rest at Nyondo Kihororo.

There was a somber mood when the casket containing the body of Danis Mumbere was lowered down in Nyondo-Kihororo Village of Kitabu Sub County, Kasese district.

Mumbere aged 27 was our staff and had raised to the rank of a senior News Reporter and a presenter.

The promising media practitioner died on Sunday while being rushed to Mbarara for a CT scan after being involved in a car accident in Nyamirangara cell along Kasese-Mbarara Highway.

Speaker after speaker described the deceased who joined South Rwenzori Messiah Radio in 2017 as an enterprising and disciplined journalist.

Rev. Solomon Badaaki, the station Manager says the demise of Mumbere will remain a big blow but quickly asked the rest of the workers to remain calm during this trying moment.

South Rwenzori Diocesan Secretary who is also the Director of South Rwenzori Messiah Radio, Rev. Nason Mugisa asks the diocesan workers to know their purpose on earth and to use their skills to serve the world.

In his preaching, the South Rwenzori Diocesan Mission Coordinator, Rev. William Muhindo Musisi challenges the mourners to aim at leaving a positive legacy.

Kasese District Chairperson, Geoffrey Sibendire Thembo said that the deceased had portrayed strides of becoming a successful journalist because of conducts, behaviors and skills.

The Bukonzo County West Member of Parliament, Godfry Atkins Katusabe has asked the people in Kasese district to maintain peace and unity in order to develop their communities.

According to Katusabe, people in all political affiliations should work together for the purpose of meeting a common goal.

The legislator also revealed his description of the dead as a hard working man who puts his work first than the desire for money or wage of his work in all the assignment he could be given.
