Five members of GAZA Boy’s Group arrested in Kasese

Security operatives in Kasese Municipality have arrested five suspected criminals who are linked to a newly established GAZA Boys’ Group that is terrorizing most areas in Kasese town.

The suspects were arrested today morning in Kizungu Cell of Nyamwamba Division. Their arrest follows an attempted mission to kill a business woman from the same area last night.

Reports indicate that at around 11:30pm the suspected criminals using a big stone broke into the room of one Joyce Anyero, threatened to kill her if she makes an alarm and went away with unspecified amount of money that she had come with from the market.

Before leaving her room, the suspected criminals used a panga to cut the victim on the forehead and left behind a big stone that they used to forcefully break the padlock.

While addressing the press shortly after the security operation, Mr. Fenahasi Wakibanahe, the L. C I Chairperson for Kizungu cell said the suspected criminals who call themselves as GAZA Boys’ Group also injured three more people in Nyamwamba Division using pangas and other sharp objects.

Mr. Wakibanahe subsequently warned the Landlords against the practice of renting their houses to the people whose identities and particulars are not clear, arguing that such people are sometimes involved in unlawful acts including terrorizing the area.

He implored the community members to work together and gang up against the criminals that are terrorizing the people in the area especially during the night hours.
