Deputy Executive Director at the Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) Uganda rallies women to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

BY ZALIMON BASIGHALHA (GOOD LUCK)

The Deputy Executive Director at the Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) Uganda has appealed to all the women in Kasese district and the entire Rwenzori sub-region to always support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ideologies.

Ms Hellen Petronilla Masika says once women continue supporting President Museveni, they will be tapping opportunities from him.

According to her, President Museveni is willing and committed to supporting women both financially and materially as long as they are loyal to him and the ruling party.

She says most of the women who are loyal to him have benefited much in terms of political appointments, giving an example of the Vice President, Major (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Annet Anita Among and herself as the Deputy Executive Director at the Microfinance Support Centre.

She was speaking to the members of the Mothers’ Union from South Rwenzori Diocese who had paid a courtesy visit to the Rwenzururu Queen, Her Highness (Nyabaghole) Agnes Ithungu Asimawe at the Kamaiba based Royal Palace in Kasese town.

Masika, who had been invited by Nyabaghole to speak to her fellow mothers, used the same platform to encourage women from across the Rwenzori sub-region to join SACCOs so that they benefit from President Museveni and his ruling government.

In her speech, Nyabaghole advised the Mothers’ Union members to learn how to separate issues of culture from Christian beliefs while applying them in their respective communities.

She courted the Mothers’ Union leaders to join the cultural institution in spreading the five pillars advocated for by Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma during the current rebranding process.

The pillars according to Nyabaghole include peace, unity, reconciliation, mindset change and socio-economic transformation.
