Bwera School of Health Sciences emerges the best in the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board in the Western Uganda

Following the release of the 2023 Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board, health institutions in Kasese district are emphasizing the critical need for parents to enroll their children in Kasese-based training facilities.

Officiating at the release of the results, State Minister for Higher Education, Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo said that a total of 54,864 candidates, including 50,609 continuing students and 4,255 candidates in their final semester, registered for the exams which were sat in December in 2023.

And in Kasese district, at Bwera School of Health Sciences in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, the Academic Registrar, Nicolus Bwambale, said that they registered 425 students including 410 continuing students and 15 finalists.

Among the 425 learners, 315 registered for Certificate in Nursing, 98 students registered for Certificate in Midwifery while 12 for Diploma in Nursing Extension.

While speaking to the press, Mr. Bwambale said that all the 425 students including both at certificate and diploma levels registered a 100% pass.

Some of the students, who managed to speak to our Reporter, quickly attributed their 100% pass to their commitment and discipline coupled with their experienced and committed staff, above all the Almighty God.

At Rwenzori School of Nursing and Midwifery in Kasese town, students and teachers together with the management and Administration on Friday they spent most of the day celebrating their victory including playing and matching with brass band along the streets of Kasese town.

                                                                     

Speaking to the press, Ms Fatima Atukwase, the School’s Academic Registrar revealed that the institution which had 440 candidates including finalists and continuing at both certificate and diploma levels registered a 98% pass rate.

She attributed such a performance to the commitment by both the Tutors and students coupled with motivation from the Board of Directors to the school management.

At Kagando School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Deputy Principal, Justus Masereka told our Reporter that the health institution had 901 students including 630 registered for nursing while 271 for Midwifery.

Masereka subsequently revealed that out of 901 learners that sat the exams, 894 excelled while seven failed the exams including finalists and continuing at both certificate and diploma levels putting the institution at 99% pass rate.
