A section of youth in Kasese district has today launched an anti-corruption crusade aimed at fighting against the alleged vice of corruption within the District Service Commission and some political leaders.
The crusade was launched today at Kilembe Mines Golf Course in Kasese town under the theme, “We stand for a Free Corrupt Society.”
Addressing the press shortly after the launch, Mr. Winnie Bwambale, the Chairperson for the Crusade, who also doubles as a member of the Patriotic League of Uganda, noted that they would follow-up the allegations indicating has often been selling jobs to the applicants, contrary to the manner in which the commission is expected to operate.
According to him, the crusade would help the people whose money has been stolen in exchange for jobs but in vain to recover it. He added that the victims would also be free legal support to have their money recovered.
He described their crusade as a non – partisan move that would wipe out corrupt leaders and civil servants in the district.
Some other youth who attended the launch hailed the Kasese Anti- Corruption Crusade members for establishing something that would push higher the voices of people in the fight against corruption and exposing the corrupt persons in the district and the country at large.
