The Kasese Resident District Commissioner has warned Local Council One Chairpersons against signing documents that recommend the people that they do not know in their electoral areas.
Lt. Joe Walusimbi sounded the warning last evening while addressing local leaders from Bukonzo County East during their security meeting that was held at Kisinga Town Council headquarters.
Lt. Walusimbi argued that such unknown people could be part of the wrong elements in society who might be collaborating with the ADF rebels.
He also directed the Village Chairpersons to be taking records of the new people who come in their areas of jurisdiction to visit their relatives.
The RDC further directed the Town Clerks and Sub-county Chiefs to always ensure that the village leaders have quarterly meetings with the L. C III Chairpersons who are the Heads of Security in their respective lower local governments.
Maj. David Bwambale Bayiringa, the Mountain Divisional Counter Intelligence UPDF Officer directed the GISOs to always submit reports concerning the security situations of their areas of command to his office on a daily basis.
In his remarks, the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kime cautioned the people against politicizing the issues related to security.
Hon. Kabbyanga stressed that security needs every person’s contribution as far as information sharing is concerned.
Mr. Simei Bwambale, the L. C II Chairperson for Nyabirongo Parish reported that security should interest itself in investigating some two holes that are being dug in his area by yet unknown people.
Mr. Juvenal Muke, the Kyondo Sub-county Chairperson told the security meeting that his sub-county is underserved in terms of security roads, arguing that the lower local government has two porous routes of Kahindangoma and Bukyitha.
Muke, who also doubles as the Chairperson for the 10 lower local governments in Bukonzo County East, commonly referred to as G-10 called for deployments at health facilities in his sub-county.
