The Muhokya Sub-County LC3 Chairperson has raised concern over what he called attempts by non-Bonafide residents sneaking into the voters’ registers, with motives to participate in elections for LC1 Chairpersons for villages they don’t belong to.
Mr. Asanairi Challenger Mugusu alleges that he has noted with concern some intruders registering themselves in voters’ registers from villages where they are not known as bona fide residents, something that may according to him spark confusion and conflict during the poling day.
He was optimistic that he had since alerted police to investigate the matter noting that such election malpractices won’t tolerated since they undermine and jeopardize the peace and security of the locals.
It is upon that background that that he cautions such actors and the officials of the electoral commission to take extra care they curry on the exercise.
He attributed such acts to interests aimed at weakening some political parties in several villages, hence calling for the need to give people their freedom of choice as they exercise their democracy through peaceful election of their leaders regardless of their political affiliations. ENDS.
