Rugendabara -Kikongo Town Council Chairperson -elect decries lack of electricity

The Rugendabara-Kikongo Town Council local council III Chairperson-elect Mr. Edson Muhyana has expressed concern over the lack of electricity connection in some areas of the town council.

Mr. Muhyana opines that Rugendabara-Kikongo town council ought to be fully connected to the national electricity grid to light the entire town yet some parts have remained under darkness despite the fact that the town is located along the Kasese-Kampala highway.

Speaking to Messiah Radio in an exclusive interview, Mr. Muhyana who awaits to be sworn in May this year as the new town council boss, said he has already initiated interactions with power distributor, Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) on how best to extend power to lacking areas.

He also said he has already developed a garbage collection plan to enhance the cleanliness of the town.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wilson Kisoboli, also a chairperson-elect for Maliba sub-county vowed to prioritise promoting the health of the people in his sub-county especially by ensuring the delivery of effective healthcare to patients at the health centres of Mukathi and Isule.

Kisoboli further highlighted the critical need to improve the road network so as to enable the movement of people and goods from one point to another with ease.
