Kasese Municipal leaders assure people of service delivery

BY JOACKIM KULE MUHESI

The Kasese Municipal Secretary for Works and Technical Services has dismissed allegations indicating that they are currently rehabilitating some roads as a mechanism to convince the people to vote for them.

John Kisembo Siriwayo told Messiah Radio today morning that Council embarked on the rehabilitation of roads including the 2-kilometre Kikonzo road, 3- kilometre Base camp road, 3- kilometre Kanyangeya road and the Saluti Bridge using the Road Rehabilitation Fund.

Siriwayo revealed that he was awash with information that some people had started circulating rumours indicating that they were working on the roads to convince the electorate to vote for them in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections.

According to him, all the government projects are implemented depending on the budget and work plan, adding that it was the right time for them to implement the Road Rehabilitation Programme.

Siriwayo used the same podium to warn the people against the practice of plucking off some demarcation poles located in some places where they are yet to implement the UCMID programme.

Jafali Kigutia, the Local Council I Chairperson for Basecamp Lower, applauded the government for thinking about the rehabilitation of some roads in his area of jurisdiction.
