Youth challenged to enhance their entrepreneurial skills

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

The Kasese District Senior Commercial Officer, Grace Kitalibara has challenged the youth who are involved in entrepreneurial skills to remain committed to their businesses for their sustainability and development.

Ms. Kitalibara sounded the challenge yesterday afternoon in an interview with the media shortly after witnessing a one- day youth workshop that was aimed at training them on the Use of Technology (Digital) in managing their Village banks dubbed “Saemaul Geumgo”, translated as Community Credit Cooperative (MG).

The workshop, which took place at the Central Division headquarters in Kasese Municipality, was organized by Uganda Federation of MG Community Credit Cooperatives (UFCC) with support from the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC).

Ms Kitalibara noted that some youth involved in small scale businesses give them little time and in turn lament that they were not realizing profits, encouraging the entrepreneurs to love and stay committed to their enterprises.

She also implored the parents involved in businesses to train their children as a way of equipping some entrepreneurial skills in them, a move she said would help in fighting the challenge of unemployment among themselves.

Justine Mbambu, the Treasurer for Western Youth MG Cooperative with its headquarters in Fort portal, observed the need for the youth to unite and share ideas.

Pascal Bwambale, the Chief Finance Officer for Uganda Federation of MG Community Credit Cooperatives (UFCC), appealed to them to make strategic plans and desist from bowing to pressures from their extravagant fellows.
