Dorothy Mbambu, a 23- year-old resident of Kakindo in Kithoma- Kanyatsi Town Council, Bukonzo County West in Kasese district, who is struggling with a strange eye disease, has yelled for help from both the Government and Nongovernmental Organizations to raise shillings 10 million for specialized treatment.
Medical documents accessed by Messiah Radio indicated that Mbambu developed abnormal tissue growth of Schwannoma, Meningioma and Fibroma.
Speaking to Messiah Radio today morning in Kikonzo Cell, Central Division in Kasese Municipality, Mbambu, who revealed that she had endured an acute pain for about 10 years, now needs specialized treatment.
According to her, the disease started small after developing a simple inflammation in the left eye and when she visited Bwera Government General Hospital, she was advised to go to Ruharo Mission Hospital in Mbarara for specialized treatment.
She explained that due to financial constraints, she delayed to go to Ruharo Mission Hospital for specialized treatment. When she realized some little resources, she finally went to Ruharo Mission Hospital where she was told to go the CT Scanner which established that her eye had an inflammation that keeps on swelling, causing the eye to bend downwards.
She further explained that when she was told to go to Mulago National Referral Hospital, she instead looked for a home where she worked as a housemaid in order to raise the funds that would take her to the hospital.
As a method of advocacy, Mbambu started recording videos, requesting for help which she posted on Tik Tok and went viral.
