BY ISAAC MUMBERE

Mr. Brian Asaba has officially picked nomination forms for the Bunyangabu County Member of Parliament in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections as an independent candidate.

In the recently concluded NRM primary elections, Asaba came second with 15,370 votes after Victor Kalenzi who garnered 26,904 votes while the incumbent MP, Davis Kamukama garnered 1,809 votes among other candidates.

Speaking to journalists yesterday shortly after picking the nomination forms from the District Election Administrator, Mr. Asaba criticised the NRM party for allegedly failing to curtail the irregularities that marred the internal elections.

He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for community development including the provision of an ambulance, restoration of boreholes, repairing local bridges and sponsoring the education of the underprivileged children.

Mr. Asaba also expressed his continued loyalty to President Yoweri Museveni and the ongoing government initiatives.

The official nomination of parliamentary candidates is expected to take place in September ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
