Kasese District Local Government receives ICT equipment and motorcycles

Kasese District Local Government with support from Enabel, a Belgium Agency for International Cooperation has today received a shipment of ICT equipment and motorcycles to strengthen the capacity of the District Education Department.

The donation is expected to help in the management of the of the education department through carrying out support supervision and reporting on school activities.

The donation included one laptop computer, two desktop computers, two motorcycles and two tablets among others to be used by the Education Inspectorate department in ensuring quality education.

Handing over the donation to the district leadership at the District the Chief Administrative Officer’s Office in Rukoki, a representativefrom Enabel, Fort portal Office who dis not disclose his name, gave out some conditions to followed when using the donated items.

Some of the conditions restrict the district from selling and hiring out the motorcycles to the third parties, all running and maintenance costs are supposed to be met by the district to ensure their continuity.

Enabel any item found to be misused or not serving the purpose it is intended while the district shall track and inspect all items annually as part of the Board Asset Register and share the report with the donor for accountability.

Speaking on behalf of the district leadership, Mr. Jerevesious Monday Bwambale, the District Vice Chairperson who also doubles as the Secretary for Social Services, applauded Enabel for supporting several development projects in Kasese.

Bwambale challenged the District Education Department to make proper use of the donated items for the sake of improving the quality of education.

He appealed to the local leaders including councillors to monitor the usage of the donated items so that they are put to a proper use. ENDS
