Allegations of voter bribery anticipated in Kasese Municipality NRM registers

BY JOACKIM KULE MUHESI

NRM members in Kasese Municipality are still stuck to determine who among five candidates vying for the parliamentary seat will sail through to hold the party flag during the forthcoming primary elections.

The position of Member of Parliament for Kasese Municipality has attracted five NRM members who are currently holding joint rallies. They include incumbent MP, Ferigo Kambale, Francis Mugisa Kithulha, Yofesi Douglas Saturday Madaraka, Diana Nansuna and Leonard Kule Imanishimwe.

However, last evening during a joint rally held at Base camp, Kambale warned that he had observed that there were some candidates amongst themselves who were planning to temper with the exercise by involving non-members to vote in the primary elections.

Kambale then stressed that such people should not be allowed to disorganize the exercise because of being given money by a section of candidates.

But Mr. Kithulha said he was suspicious that Kambale might be the one to influence vote rigging, alleging that there were some hearsays indicating that some names of voters were removed from the register.

He called upon the voters to on the polling day go to the polling stations to participate in the elections and witness the progress of the exercise.

Our reporter, who was at the rally, asserted that most of the voters were left with unanswered questions about some emerging issues.
