One commits suicide over high debts in Kasese

Residents of Kyondo sub-county in Bukonzo County East in Kasese district are mourning a 35 year old clinic operator who allegedly committed suicide over high indebtedness.

Mr Nichodemus Masereka is believed to have swallowed poison two days ago and was immediately rushed to Kagando Hospital in Kisinga Town, where he has been getting treatment before he eventually died.

The Chairperson local council III of Kyondo sub-county Mr. Juvenile Muke has confirmed that the deceased is a resident of Ibimbo Village in Kyondo sub-county.

According to Mr. Muke, apparently Masereka was highly indebted adding that this could be one of the reasons why he claimed his own life.  

Meanwhile, the Kisinga sub-county boss, Mr. Julius Mukeri has urged locals to drink responsibly, not forgetting that celebrating Christmas should not be the time of doing evil.

In a related situation, the boda- boda riders in Kanyampara trading centre in Munkunyu sub-county celebrated their Christmas through embarking on the rehabilitation of a two kilometer road stretch between Kanyampara Bridge and the trading centre as one way of avoiding road accidents. ENDS
