Road accidents on an increase in Kasese, says police

The police in Kasese district have reported that cases of road accidents in the Rwenzori East policing region have increased ahead of this year’s Christmas festival. 

The Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime says since last week, they have been registering cases of road crashes.

According to him, on Sunday December 15, they registered 06 serious accidents and 01 minor accident that left 10 people injured.

The police have since sounded a stern warning to the road users to be careful through following the traffic safety rules.

He specifically warned the motorists against any form of disobedience to the safety rules saying the culprits would be issued with Express Penalty tickets (EPS) for errant driving.

He assures the public that the Uganda Police Force is ready to strengthen security for the people and their property.
