Residents of Kikonzo – Kanyangeya Cell Railway Ward in Kasese Municipality were today morning engulfed in shock following the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of a one Kambale Kabbaya.
Kabbaya’s body was found lying lifeless in a bush at Kanyangeya. According to his spouse, Janet Biira who spoke to Messiah Radio while at the scene, her deceased husband called her on phone at around 7.00am explaining that he had last night been attacked by thieves at his place of work and was therefore in hiding.
Kabbaya has been working as a security guard at St. Mark C.O.U located in Railway Ward of Kasese Municipality. The church was broken into this last night by unknown thugs.
Biira wonders if her partner Kabbaya chose to end his life following the break-in at his place of work or if there are any other circumstances that led to his death.
Layreader Semu Bangahi, the overseer at St. Mark Railway C.O.U, confirmed the loss and theft of the church property including, a screen, sound system and others, adding that it is the second time unidentified persons have broken into the church premises and made off with church property.
The church leader has since called upon security operatives in the area to intensify operations aimed at apprehending culprits.
Meanwhile, Hon. John Siriwayo, the Municipal Secretary for Social Services who doubles as the councilor for Railway Ward cautioned the people against engaging in criminality explaining that the long arm of the law would soon catch up with them.
Siriwayo urged the people of Kasese to embrace hard work and refrain from idleness within the community.
